City Disposal Services, LLC is a privately owned and operated company based out of Chattanooga, TN
Before getting into the container hauling business, the owner Ray Marler along with his wife Rilda, bought their
first dump truck in 1965, hauling rock. A few years later Mr. Marler got into excavating and grading with doing
much of the work for TN dot. Ray Marler Construction then got into Paving and other areas of construction.
In 1998,after years of being in the construction field, Mr. Marler saw a need for a C&D (Construction &
Demolition) landfill for the Chattanooga area. The landfill, under the name Environmental Materials, LLC (still
in operation today) gave businesses and residents alike a place to dispose of non hazardous materials
properly.
In 1999 Mr. Marler broke ground on a rock quarry in Chattanooga. The development of the quarry stabilized
the costs of limestone, concrete, and asphalt not only in Chattanooga, but the entire region. A year later the
quarry was sold to Florida Rock.
In 2004 we opened our doors to Chattanooga Transfer, LLC. The transfer station, with its central location to
the city, was started to give commercial waste haulers a convenient place to bring their garbage or C&D. Not
only is it convenient for our customers, but it also saves them time and fuel. Another great reason for the
transfer station is that it has cut down air pollution and traffic.
It didn't take us long to figure out, why not also give the general public and small contractors a convenient place
to take their C&D type materials. So we opened up the Convenience Center an area of the transfer station just
for them.
Moving forward once again, we are venturing into the roll-off business. With the advantage of the landfill and
the transfer station, we can have great competitive prices and give the best service in the area. So give us a
